Every time I think of Galadriel, I think of the song she sings as the Fellowship leaves Lórien:
"O Lórien! Too long have I dwelt upon this hither shore and in a fading crown have twined the golden elanor. But if of ships I now should sing, what ship would come to me? What ship would bear me ever back across to wide a sea?"
Such a beautiful song to portray a dwindling people.
Schmincke watercolours on Montval cold-pressed paper, A3 size. I recently bought a couple of Arthur Rackham artbooks... I think it's working already. God, I adore that man's style.
Oh mann, Galadriel ist toll. Eine meiner liebsten Figuren im Herrn der Ringe, definitiv. Du hast einen wunderschönen Stil, da werd ein Zeichen-Noob wie ich richtig neidisch Sehr sehr toll. <3
One of few 'Galadriels' I ever liked. She is dignified and noble, but also "girlish", youthful. You can see wisdom and age in her gaze. Just as Tolkien described her - and I imagine it is very hard to catch this all on paper. Kudos.
This is so gorgeous but it makes me sad too. Galadriel is one of my favorite elves and I wish she didn't have to leave Middle Earth. You've captured her beauty and her sadness so well here. I love it.
