Every time I think of Galadriel, I think of the song she sings as the Fellowship leaves Lórien:
"O Lórien! Too long have I dwelt upon this hither shore and in a fading crown have twined the golden elanor. But if of ships I now should sing, what ship would come to me? What ship would bear me ever back across to wide a sea?"
Such a beautiful song to portray a dwindling people.
Schmincke watercolours on Montval cold-pressed paper, A3 size. I recently bought a couple of Arthur Rackham artbooks... I think it's working already. God, I adore that man's style.
This face shows just perfectly her few thousand years of age with all the tragc events she's witnessed, great wisdom and authority and reminds me somehow of Laureen Bacall Plus elanor is beautifully intertwined with her golden tresses
