"The castle lay atop a hill that overlooked Gwylan Bay, which opened into the vast Môranferth Sea. The building dated back to the time when Rhyddion had been held by the Cormish, the Eastern Kings, and was one of the few stone castles in Tangnafedd. Parts of it were in a state of disrepair as there were no stonemasons left anywhere in Tangnafedd who knew how to work stone that way; or they just didn’t care. The north-western tower, which had born the brunt of wind and sea for countless years, was so worn that it was not inhabited anymore – not by men, at least. In the crags nested hundreds of seabirds – gulls, gannets, and even the occasional puffin. The human inhabitants of the castle didn’t begrudge it to them; they called it Tŵr Aderyn, “the Bird Tower”, and had become used to the ever-present smell of guano.
It sometimes seemed to Aidan that he had spent half his adolescent years on Tŵr Aderyn, where nobody ever looked for him, and sat there on the crumbling battlements, watching the gannets circle and plummet as they hunted for fish, cooling his anger at his father, Lady Elaine, or, most often, Dylan."

Alternative title: Moping with gannets. :D Aidan doing what he does best.

Pencil, parchment, Photoshop. I am REALLY happy with the technique here. :boogie:

ahhhh you changed it, dont get me wrong, it is great, as allways but i liked the smooth blue color wich was linked to his "thoughts."
This is "classical Jenny" the other one was "something different" :)
:icongold-seven:
The other one was just uncoloured. ;)

Ich hatte das Blau nur draufgepackt, weil ich ja so ungern normalen Bleistift hochlade. Colorieren wollt ich's schon. Und ich hab die Farben dezent gehalten - fand ich ^^

Chaucer: You've probably read my book? The Book of the Duchess? No? Well, it was allegorical.
Roland: Well, we won't hold that against you, that's for every man to decide for himself. (A Knight's Tale)

I usually keep sharp edges insread of smooth colour transitions - I suppose that's why :) I wasn't trying to make this look like watercolour, exactly - and I don't really think it does - I wanted to make it look less digital, and sharp, because I like sharp. :)
