There was only darkness. Darkness, and him, and the pain. The pain was the only thing that was not dark. When Maedhros closed his eyes, the pain even blocked out the darkness, drowning it, mostly red, sometimes white.

The one on the left is Jhael, my favourite D&D character. He's a fighter and a follower of the good drow goddess Eilistraee. Here, he's being instructed in the ways of a bladedancer by the female weapons master of the Eilistraee temple.

The image is beautiful and inspiring, but I got curious about something in the artist's comments. Since we both are familiar with D&D, would you please saciate my hunger by saying if bladedancer's just a really cool concept?
It really looks like your character's gone through that "I'm getting the first level of my prestige class! Woo hoo!". If it is so, please say which, I'll be thankful and the worms in my brain will rest in peace.

I think it's a self-created prestige class - or rather, an adapted one. Threre was a pc in a DUNGEON magazine once, "Keshen Blademaster", and we adapted it to drow. I don't think we changed anything.

And yes, it's that "I'm getting my first prestige class level!"

Is that gash in Jhael's back from when he was hit deeply with an axe in your "Drow's Tale" and nearly died or is that from some other mis-adventure he had. You put him through so many scrapes, slashes, and lashes his back should be shredded with scars.

Either way I added this to favourites.
