Again, several people asked - so here's what may be my first tutorial deserving of that term ;)


Programme: PS 6, but will work with all PS versions that have layers (Painter doesn't support my beloved Colour layers, I'm afraid)
Skill level w/PS: intermediate. You should know your way around with the basics.
Other: I use a tablet (Wacom Intuos 3), and I know that people can achieve some great digital painting with a mouse, but well, I can't. ;)

TWO REQUESTS. *PLEASE* READ.

#1 My Photoshop version is German, but that's all. Everything is explained and translated in the text. If you come complaining that you can't understand the tut because it's German, I'll know you haven't even read the thing, and if you didn't bother to do that and just whine, I won't bother to answer your whining either.

#2 Please don't ask me where you can "download that Photoshop App". Photoshop, as so many don't seem to know, is a high-end image editing software, designed for professionals. You buy it in a shop that sells computer programmes. And yes, it's very expensive. That's why I'm still dabbling with the age-old version 6.0.

Thank you for these tutorials - I've been learning by trial and error (and in GIMP) but seeing how you use layers and other tools to create such subtle colouring is really incredibly useful!
Oh and I LOVE your line art too.
