High time for a remake of this scene... just a sketch, but I like the rawness of it. The sort of scene that doesn't have to be polished.

Fingon, having cut off Maedhros' hand to free him from Thangorodrim, being taken back to Mithrim by Thorondor (whose right wing is visible in the background).

From J. R. R. Tolkien's The Silmarillion.

Pencil and white gouache on pastel paper.

:( Poor Maedhros. He looks so scrawny. Also I imagine he's in a great deal of pain right now...

Their expressions are just awesome.
And I can't believe I haven't seen this one yet. I was quite sure I browsed all the pics in your gallery. Good thing I found this one!

Maedhros looks like trying to fall from Thorondor's back :( But perhaps he's so much in pain he can't stop moving :(

Yes, that's what I felt it must be like - hurting so much you just can't lie still. :(

This is so beautiful. Maedhro's expression is excruciating to look at, and Fingon's isn't any better... you captured this moment perfectly. :iconcryforeverplz:

your plan to put another one of my favorites. Can you represent very well the scenes that designs and Maedhros, you have repeatedly shown, is the most beautiful I have ever seen.
I'm sorry for my English. xD
