Dying of the Light by Gold-Seven Dying of the Light by Gold-Seven
Llywelyn is dead. Rhyddion has fallen. And the man who has seen a nation rise against its enemy, and lose everything, is left with his life - and that of the woman he loves, though neither of them can take comfort in that as they are forced to leave Rhyddion behind for ever.

Closeup shot

Credits for this pic go to :iconaraniel: for the idea (she drew a scene much like this for my contest last winter; not sure if this will happen like this in the actual story, but be warned, it will be close), and to Mr Helmut Höldl, who was kind enough to send me a high-res version of a picture I used as a reference for the lighting in this piece. (Reference only, this is not a photomanip or anything, some people had asked...)

Pencil lineart, Photoshop.

This is just beautiful. I can almost feel the warmth of the sun through the trees. I really like everything about this painting and the feeling it creates.

Apologies for spanning your inbox. I love your stuff. How and where did you learn to color like so?

Thank you! I'm completely self-taught. But over the course of many, many years. :)
SO THERE's hope for me YAY!
I'm virtually self-taught; I've had a teacher before for sketch, but all else i learned myself.
