Feanor's last stand by Gold-Seven Feanor's last stand by Gold-Seven
"There upon the confines of Dor Daedeloth, the land of Morgoth, FŽanor was surrounded, with few friends about him. Long he fought on, and undismayed, though he was wrapped in fire and wounded with many wounds; but at the last he was smitten to the ground by Gothmog, Lord of Balrogs."

J. R. R. Tolkien's Silmarillion.

Torchon paper and Dr Martin's Liquid Watercolours (Yeehaw! Look at those colours!), brought to you thanks to the lovely ~flyingfish98, who gave me a Dick Blick gift voucher for my birthday. :glomp:

FŽanor's probably the only High Elf I would ever imagine wearing black armour. Whatever might be said about him, he's got *style*.

New version - without Gothmog's reflection. It just didn't work though the idea was good. (If you want to take a peek, it's here.) [link]

Not sure why, but I don't really like his face (maybe because its to different from the other one? hum), but the rest I do, even more the armor and sword. The wounds are nicly done. Very pretty colors you picked here too.

I love the fire and his hair. I'm so glad he's got dark hair in this because that's how I imagine him!

Feanor was my favorite elf in Silmarillion. He was so creative and intelligent and I felt bad for him because he was kind of an outcast in his family.

Too bad he was so defensive about the silmarils. He spent the rest of his life (and his kid's lives) trying to get them back. :(

Everything about this just screams Feanor. This depicts his last stand perfectly.

I love how Feanor's eyes look on fire themselves. Spirit of Fire indeed.

Each time I re-read this section of the book, I remember one of the Murphy's Laws for Middle Earth : "Immortal does not mean indestructible. Think about it next time you see a Balrog."
Nonetheless, you are right about the style part. The problem with him, it's always style before reason.

This is really great, all of it. The sword and armour design, the wounds and the wear and especially the face, the expression is perfect I think. Defiance, murderous rage and perhaps a little fear.

I love this. You really get the sense of Feanor's might and general, well, craziness. Excellent job!
