A re-run of a pic I must've drawn around ten years ago... and another one of those "missing scenes" from the Silmarillion.
Take a peek into the house of Feanor when the Noldor still lived in Valinor... I imagine it must have been rather lively at times. Nerdanel, pregnant with Curufin, spots trouble brewing between Caranthir and Celegorm (who seems to have always been rather protective of his dog), Maedhros has just given up concentrating on writing a letter, Maglor demonstrates that poets and artists are always able to retreat into a world completely of their own during the creative process, and Feanor looks in from the smithies and shouts for some quiet.  Watercolour and Photoshop. ADDITION: I've dug out the old version of this, drawn in September 1994. [link] A masterwork of composition. Perspective is Higher Mathematics and therefore unattainable for mere mortals. Backgrounds are for people without imagination. But well... Maedhros was cute.  ADDITION #2: Believe it or not (I almost didn't), but the very day I drew Nerdanel's big belly, *I* got pregnant. So, for all those of you who're trying to get pregnant and it won't work--draw pregnant women!!  |
