"His hopeless challenge dauntless cried
Fingolfin there: "Come, open wide,
dark king, your ghastly brazen doors!
Come forth, whom earth and heaven abhors!
Come forth, O monstrous craven lord,
and fight with thine own hand and sword,
thou wielder of hosts of banded thralls,
thou tyrant leaguered with strong walls,
thou foe of Gods and elvish race!
I wait thee here. Come! Show thy face!"

J. R. R. Tolkien, The Lays of Beleriand/The Silmarillion

This is beautiful :D  I have a question.. do you use reference pics for the poses of the characters or just invent them? :)

I only use reference in about 10% of all cases. For horses, I usually do; as for this one. For people, only when I want weird poses or tough angles.

No problem. Most people use the two synonymously and don't even know Tolkien wrote more, so, kudos! ;)

Thank you ;) That's true, and it's a shame really :/ I love most of Tolkien's writing. My favorite is Silmarillion- everything is so beautifully described. :)

Okey, thank you for answering :) I was just wondering, cos I usually make up the poses for people myself, so I was curious :) I do use references for horses too though. I really love your Lord Of The Rings art
