Completely repainted this in liquid watercolours on Canson paper.

"But the jewel burned the hand of Maedhros in pain unbearable; and he perceived that it was as Eönwë had said, and that his right thereto had become void, and that the oath was vain. And being in anguish and despair he cast himself into a gaping chasm filled with fire, and so ended; and the Silmaril that he bore was taken into the bosom of the Earth."

J. R. R. Tolkien, The Silmarillion, chapter 24: Of the Voyage of Eärendil and the War of Wrath

I haven't read the Silmarillion, but these are absolutely beautiful and stunningly emotional. I love the color schemes and the contrast between the two; I love the details and the texture and everything about them!

Muss ich überlegen - das waren Farben von Doc Martin's; also Hansa Deep Yellow, Indian Red, Burnt Sienna, Alizarin Crimson.

Wow! Beautiful colours. I miss a more firery orange, though the peachy colour gives it a very soft look. Very good!

Wow, so fascinating! So beautiful! So sad! A perfect echo to the one with Maglor. One is fascinating and powerful, the other one is melancholy and quiet. The movement of the flames, ready to consume Maedhros is so captivating!
