Artist's Comments

And another long-delayed art trade! This one was with *rewston (go see her gallery if you haven't already - especially her horses are WOW!), and it started, uhm, April last year or so...

It's her character Roxie (the girl) and Gerard, a vampire. She didn't give me a lot of setting info so I went overboard with Rococo goodness, yay :D The coat Gerard wears is similar to the one worn by Tom Cruise in "Interview with the Vampire". Overall, this was so much fun! Now if I only could find more excuses for rococo pics :D

Watercolour, touchups in Photoshop.

And this has nothing to do with Phantom of the Opera. That was over a hundred years later.

That is beautiful! I love the costumes, and especialy the colors. They are very rich yet dry giving them a more realistic tone to the old fashion feel. Love his mask, awesome job ^_^

Ooo, he's one cute vampire... reminds me of the masquerade ball y char Catri was at on Elflife. I love Masquerade Balls. My dream 18th party would be a modern take on a masquerade ball... *Steals the vampire's mask and runs away giggling*

I believe in nature, and the beauty of a tree. The structure of the universe holds Gods enough for me.

Nee, vieles erschien mir dann wirklich zu nitpicky. Ich habe das Gefühl, Geos kritisiert alles, was er persönlich anders gemacht hätte, und das Bild male immer noch ich, nicht er. ;)

Chaucer: You've probably read my book? The Book of the Duchess? No? Well, it was allegorical.
Roland: Well, we won't hold that against you, that's for every man to decide for himself. (A Knight's Tale)

Wonderful, colorful, baroque piece! I love the detail and the almost playful set of the thing. Good work!

I absolutely love the colors you chose! They're very regal and aristocratic. Not to mention the expression and the pose. Beautiful!=)

Exzellente Farben und schön durchdachte Figuren. Das Bild hat wirklich was! Der Hintergrund bietet auch eine gewisse Perspektive und laässt ein in dem Ballraum mittanzen!

It's great, the technique reminds me of tradicional illustrations - I think I like it better than digitally created ones. Great colours, as always :)
