Maedhros enjoying a happy moment in-between wars, hunting in Ossiriand, the Land of Seven Rivers.
Note: The character's name is Maedhros. Ossiriand is the name of the land. :giggle:

A not-scene from J. R. R. Tolkien's Silmarillion.
No, that's right, he has a hand missing. This seems to confuse people. I did not forget to paint it. :giggle:

That's why the hunting knife (for that's what it is - his sword is a lot longer. ... Not what YOU're thinking!!) is on his left hip as well. Swords usually go on the opposite side of the hand they're used with... daggers go on the same side.

Dr Martin's Liquid Watercolours on Canson watercolour paper.

Edit: Holy greenery Batman, front page *again*? This seems to happen to every pic of mine lately. :wow: Not sure what has caused this, but thank you ever so much!

I'm glad Maedhros got to enjoy himself sometimes - thank you for this!

I seriously hope for a fast coming spring, watching this draw xD in France, clouds came back an it snowed again, we really believed that it was going to stop, but heeeere it comes again !

Those gorgeous colors, anyway... That red, my godness...

I like the contrast of the red in Maedros and the horse, and the greenery around!

And the hight looks perfect to me: the horse looks like it is downhill compared to Maedros, and that standing side by side his shoulders would be around the same hight as the horse's withers. That was considered perfect hight for a war-horse in relation to the rider in medieval times. They should know :D

(I'm not going to say anything about the breed this time ;) )

Your ability to pick colors that compliment each other amazes me.

the horse seems small in comparison to Maedhros, but it could just be me. it is awesome though. :D

He's eight feet tall. Of course it's small. :giggle:
