Since a lot of people have asked me how I do those parchmenty sketches (and why the heck I upload them in the digital section), I decided, lazy as I am, it would be quicker in the long run to make a tutorial of it.
So, full view and enjoy!
Edited to correct a mistake - Of course the shadows are done using the dodge tool, not burn.
Whoa, cool! I've always loved the parchment-look your sketches have, and I've always thought it was a watercolor or ink wash or something. This is so much easier (and less messy!) I will definitely have to try this out on my next sketch. Thanks!

Chaucer: You've probably read my book? The Book of the Duchess? No? Well, it was allegorical. Roland: Well, we won't hold that against you, that's for every man to decide for himself. (A Knight's Tale)

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
