Words and music. Two things that were so far removed that it took Maedhros a while to even realize they were there. His mind still did not understand them, but his heart did, at least in part. It recognized them as something to break through the endless cycle of painful heartbeats, and left him no say in the matter. He suddenly found that it had the music, and the words, as if it remembered them from a time long ago, though that seemed impossible. There was only darkness. Darkness, and him, and the pain. The pain was the only thing that was not dark. When Maedhros closed his eyes, the pain even blocked out the darkness, drowning it, mostly red, sometimes white.

Two characters from my eternal novel-in-progress... Somehow, I always draw the scenes in which nothing happens.

Rhys ap Huw, left, is the commander of the Prince's army; his brother Cadwy ap Huw, right, is a priest. Rhys is one of my favourite characters. I dont speak welsh, but im welsh and I live in wales and I know some welsh, I just cant hold much of a conversation with a fluent speaker! But im not completly useless, I know a little ^_^

Thanks a lot! I'm really, really self-conscious about my feeble attempts at Welsh, but I guess unless I want to remain terrified of any Welsh speaker discovering the book - if it's ever published - I'd better check with one before that happens

It's a couple of terms that I've come up with and would like to know if they sound odd, and I really need to know how plural endings work in Welsh

And - I don't know if you've ever read them, but the books by Katharine Kerr use a lot of Welsh as well. Kerr uses nicknames for most of her characters, male ones ending in -o, females in -a. Is that correct in Welsh? I have another novel in which the nickname for Llywelyn is Llelo, so that seems to fit?
