An extremely fun commission for Tom, of the bearers of the three Elven rings in the Third Age: Gandalf (Narya), Galadriel (Nenya), and Elrond (Vilya). I had the most fun with Galadriel's attire... and with de-agentsmithing Elrond.
This might be a stupid question, but did Tolkien write a story explaining how Gandalf came by the ring . . . and how Sauron decided how many rings to make & who would get them?
That would be "Of the Rings of Power and the Third Age", in the Silmarillion. Sauron only made one Ring - and that was the One. The others were forged by Celebrimbor son of Curufin.
