Rhys ab Huw, Captain of Prince Iared's household guard, and Aidan's best friend.
Born April 30, at the time of the feast of Beltane, which awakens the sleeping Earth Dragon. I wasn't sure if Rhys could really be associated with a dragon - but it was the Earth connection (and the "sleeping" bit) that convinced me. Rhys is loosely based (outwardly) on actor Alan Tudyk. Inwardly, he's totally my husband. They share a birthday too. Other Art Nouveau portraits: Llywelyn [link] Aidan [link] Adenydd [link] Pencil, Photoshop, watercolour texture. Chaucer: You've probably read my book? The Book of the Duchess? No? Well, it was allegorical.
Roland: Well, we won't hold that against you, that's for every man to decide for himself. (A Knight's Tale)

But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
And I didn't *mean* it to look as if I was picking my nose...
