Artist's Comments

Amras and Amrod, the last two sons of Feanor. For their appearances, I stuck to Tolkien's later writings, which were not incorporated in to the finished version of the Silmarillion, because it'd have meant changes to the entire book Christopher Tolkien didn't want to make.

According to these, both had their mother's red hair, but Amras's darkened as he grew older. Amrod's mother-name was "Umbarto", "Fated", which is father, distressed, changed to "Ambarto." But he himself sealed Amrod's fate - Amrod had not come ashore after the landing in Middle-earth, but planned to return secretly to Aman. Feanor did not know this and when he burned the ships, his youngest son was burned with them.

I've made a purplish version too, which you can see here: [link] You know I can never resist purple. But the green brings out their hair so nicely. ^^

...the only thing I don´t like so much about it is the hairstyle being so " Prince Valiant" ;D But that´s a matter of preference. I so love how you do the clothes :worship: And it always amazes me when people manage to make a beautiful nature background with so few brush strokes *__*

You're right about the green version bringing out the hair color. The purplish version is almost monochrome.
