"He was dark-haired as his mother, and promised to be like her in mood also; for he was not merry, and spoke little, though he learned to speak early and ever seemed older than his years. Túrin was slow to forget injustice or mockery; but the fire of his father was also in him, and he could be sudden and fierce. Yet he was quick to pity, and the hurts or sadness of living things might move him to tears."
- The Silmarillion

Here it is, finally! Took so many attempts to paint - sick babysitter on Tuesday, botched background on Wednesday, and then my scanner decided not to pick up *any* hue variation last night. :O_o: Took me two hours of postwork to get it to look like the original.

I imagine him to be still quite young in here - as a young outlaw.

Watercolour. Commission for Francesca, who deserves a medal for one of the most fun commission I've had in ages. Original size: A3. ^_____^

Turin! So misunderstood! I always wanted to give him a great big hug and tell him "It's okay." (even though, for him, it's probably not :/)

You are quite talented! I have been browsing your gallery and I am liking your works very much. I think I will start stalk - *ahem* I mean watching you. In all seriousness though, bravo!

Turin is one of my favourite Tolkien characters, and I must say this is one of the first illustrations that captures how I imagined him when I was reading the Silmarillion. Especially his expression, very melancholy and sad. I want to hug him. :D

Awesome work. :)

Dear Jenny, you've been one of my favourite artists for ages. So good to see you back!

The pic is amazing... The wind that blows his cloak, as cold as the breath of Amarth itself...

And I keep hoping that you'll draw Feanaro one day...

Best wishes!

another man, who stole my heart.
he looks so sad with those steel eyes.
must be cold in his world.
I'd hug him.

Alas, poor Turin! His story was one of my favorites from the Silmarillion... Beautifully done! Wonderful composition and pose, and he looks just like I'd envisioned him!
