He gave a pensive sort of nod, and replied by kissing her. Branwyn was so taken aback that, for once, she was lost for words.

I love those two. ^^ And this scene really, really needed to be done. (Not that it's written yet, mind.)

I'm slowly getting back into watercolours. No digital touchups on this one, apart from putting the scan together and making the colours look like in the original.

Ahh, you've done this kind of scene beautiful justice! As has been noted, there's the look of shock on Branwyn's face, the moment when denial is no longer allowed that's absolutely delightful; that moment where a kiss is something of a cudgel to the nervous system with a touch so intimate and unexpected; her breath has clearly caught not in her throat, but in her chest, and she wonders if for the moment the world has gone mad, or if she has.

My favorite, though, is the blance in Aedan's face, that gentleness so soft, so tender, that for a moment one might think he had been dozing. Aedan knows his feelings, and in this case at least, he knows how to express them. His strong, warm hands do not grasp, but cup and cradle Branwyn's cheeks. His closeness is one of intimacy without insistance. He is clearly in love with her, and he wants her to know it in a way that she cannot be in denial any longer.

Dear heavens, and in watercolor, even!!! Please tell me that this has won awards!

Aww lovely romantic piece I really like moments before the kiss pictures. Aedan's expression is really touching and Branwyn does look quite surprised.
