In regards to a face, Namo is one of the Aratar; the eight greatest of the Valar (Manwė, Varda, Ulmo, Aulė, Yavanna, Mandos, Nienna and Oromė) The Aratar were said to be greater in majesty and beauty than the other Vala. So Namo certainly wouldn't be ugly.
I have to confess, I don't see Mandos to be any kind of conventionally good-looking. Majestic, yes. But not beautiful in any real sense of the word. I see him as cold, impassive, and more often than not, hiding his face. When I drew him, it was either a still, cloaked figure from behind, or, where he needed to be more dramatic, like in the Prophecy of the North) with his cloak billowing around him and his hood hiding much of his face.
I think of him as a stern judge at times; but he is also a guardian of souls. The purpose of his halls is to serve as a place of instruction and healing. And I don't think a person who is completley cold and impassive would be of much help in that regard. Also he's married (To Vaire) so there must be more to him than just coldness!
Someday I WILL have a lot of money and I promise I will make a huge commision... probably an enormous portrait of the whole Weasley family at the table having dinner, wich I'll conveniently place right in front of my own dining table. So I'll have dinner with the Weasleys.
Well... challenges are said to be what makes life interesting aren't they? ... And the table would be inside of a kitchen with the windows and furniture.... what would mean *more* perspective... mwahahahaha...
Which Vala would it be? ^^
